For mobile mechanics
Websites for mobile mechanics
You are not competing with garages. You are competing with the hassle of getting to one.
A mobile mechanic sells convenience before skill, because the customer has usually already accepted that a garage could do the job. What they are weighing is whether they have to arrange a lift, take a morning off, and sit in a waiting room. I build mobile mechanic websites that lead with the thing you are actually selling rather than burying it under a list of services any garage could print.
What your customer is actually deciding
Something is wrong with the car and the customer is mildly stressed and quite ignorant about what it will cost, which is an uncomfortable combination. They want three answers fast: do you come to me, do you cover my area, and roughly what am I in for. If the site does not answer the area question in the first screen, they leave, because a mobile service that does not cover them is worse than useless to them.
Where most mobile mechanics’ websites go wrong
The word mobile gets treated as a detail rather than the entire proposition, so the homepage reads like a garage's. The second failure is a vague coverage area, usually a county name, when the customer wants to know about their specific town. The third is no pricing at all on the predictable jobs, when mobile mechanics have an unusual advantage here: a service, brake pads or a diagnostic are all things you genuinely can put a price against.
Someone's car has failed its MOT on an advisory that turned into a fail, and they are now working out how to get it fixed without losing a day. They search for a mobile mechanic and open a couple of sites. The first lists services with no prices and says it covers the county. The second says plainly which towns it works in, what a brake job costs, and that it can come on Saturday. There is no real contest.
The pages a mobile mechanic actually needs
Not a generic five-page template. These are the pages that earn their place on a mobile mechanic business website.
- 01
Servicing at home or at work
Your core proposition. Interim and full, what each includes, a fixed price, and the fact that they can carry on working while you do it. The workplace angle is underused and it is genuinely persuasive.
- 02
Diagnostics
The warning light job. High volume, and people search it in exactly those words. Explain what the diagnostic fee covers and whether it comes off the repair if they go ahead.
- 03
Brakes, clutches and common repairs
The predictable jobs where you can quote a real range. This is where a mobile mechanic can beat a garage on transparency, because a garage almost never publishes anything.
- 04
Pre-purchase inspections
Someone buying a used car privately wants a mechanic to look at it first, and they are searching for it. It is a well-paid, quick job, and there is often nobody local competing for the phrase at all.
- 05
Where you actually travel
Named towns and postcode areas, not a county. This is the single most important page on a mobile mechanic's site and it is the one most often left vague.
Three mistakes worth fixing first
If you do nothing else with your current site, start here. All three are cheap to put right.
- 01
The site reads like a garage's
A list of services with no emphasis on the fact that you come to them. Convenience is the entire reason someone chooses you over the garage two streets away, and it should be the first thing on the page rather than a line in the footer.
- 02
Coverage described as a county
Saying you cover Essex tells someone in Harwich nothing useful. Name the towns. Every visitor's first question is whether you come to them, and a vague answer sends them to the competitor who was specific.
- 03
No prices on the jobs you can price
You cannot quote a mystery noise, but you can absolutely quote a full service, a diagnostic, front pads and discs, or a pre-purchase inspection. Publishing those is a real advantage over garages, who almost never do, and it filters out the calls that were only ever price-shopping.
What people type when they need a mobile mechanic
Roughly the shape of the searches worth being found for. Put your own town where the brackets are, because local intent is where a small business can genuinely outrank a bigger one.
- mobile mechanic near me
- mobile car service [your town]
- mobile mechanic diagnostics
- pre purchase car inspection [your town]
- mobile brake repair
I set this up during the build rather than selling it back to you afterwards as an SEO package. What I will not do is promise you the top spot, because nobody can honestly promise that.
What it costs
A website for a mobile mechanic business starts at £1,000 for up to five pages, live in about two weeks. You get one number in writing before anything starts, and it does not move unless you ask for something that was not in the brief. Hosting and your domain run separately at roughly £100 to £150 a year, and the care plan is optional.
The full breakdown is on the pricing page. You talk to me the whole way through, because there is nobody else to talk to. I have been doing this for 12 years and I am still reachable after launch, with 30 days of free tweaks while you settle in.
