For dog groomers

Websites for dog groomers

People are leaving a family member with a stranger. Price is nowhere near the top of their list.

Dog grooming is a trust purchase dressed up as a service purchase. The owner is handing over an animal they are anxious about to someone they have never met, and no amount of price competitiveness fixes that. I build grooming websites that answer the questions owners are too embarrassed to ask, which are mostly about whether their dog will be frightened.

What your customer is actually deciding

A new owner with a first doodle has just discovered what happens to a coat that is not maintained, and is now searching with a mixture of guilt and worry. What they want to know is whether you have handled their breed, whether the dog will be crated or waiting loose, how long it takes, and what happens if the dog will not settle. Almost no grooming website answers any of that, which means answering it is an easy way to win.

Where most dog groomers’ websites go wrong

Prices given as one number when grooming is obviously breed and coat dependent, which either scares off large-breed owners or leads to an awkward conversation at pickup. The second failure is no photographs of the actual space, when an owner very much wants to see where their dog will be. The third is booking by phone only, when a large share of pet owners would rather book at eleven at night than ring anyone.

Someone has a cockapoo that has gone past the point of home brushing, and they are quietly worried they have let it get bad enough to be judged. They search in the evening and look at a few salons. Most show a price list and a phone number. One has photographs of the room, explains that dogs are not crated between the bath and the dry, says what happens with a nervous first-timer, and lets them book without speaking to anyone. That salon gets a customer for the next eight years.

The pages a dog groomer actually needs

Not a generic five-page template. These are the pages that earn their place on a grooming salon website.

  • 01

    Prices by size and coat

Not one number. A table by breed size and coat type, with a note that matted coats take longer and cost more. It prevents the pickup conversation everyone dreads and it stops large-breed owners assuming you are cheap and then feeling misled.

  • 02

    Your first visit

What happens step by step, how long it takes, whether they stay or go, and what you do with a dog that is anxious. This is the page that converts nervous first-time owners, and it is the one almost nobody writes.

  • 03

    Photographs of the salon itself

Not just finished dogs. The room, the table, the drying area, where dogs wait. Owners are trying to picture where their animal will spend three hours and they will trust a salon they have seen.

  • 04

    Breeds you work with

Doodles, double coats, terriers, giant breeds. Owners search by breed constantly, and being explicit that you handle theirs answers their real question, which is whether you have done this before.

  • 05

    Puppy grooming and first haircuts

A distinct and searched service with a distinct customer, and the start of a relationship that can last a decade. Explain how you introduce a puppy to the process gently.

Three mistakes worth fixing first

If you do nothing else with your current site, start here. All three are cheap to put right.

  • 01

    One price for every dog

A cockapoo and a newfoundland are not the same job and everyone knows it. A single price either loses you the big dogs or ambushes their owners at collection. A short table by size and coat is honest, takes five minutes to write, and prevents most billing disputes.

  • 02

    No pictures of the room

Finished-dog photographs prove you can groom. Photographs of the salon prove where the dog will be, which is the thing an anxious owner is actually imagining. It is the easiest trust win available to a grooming business.

  • 03

    Phone bookings only

A large share of pet owners are searching at night, when ringing is not an option, and a fair few would simply rather not speak to someone. Online booking captures the ones who would otherwise have moved on, and it fills cancellations without you doing anything.

What people type when they need a dog groomer

Roughly the shape of the searches worth being found for. Put your own town where the brackets are, because local intent is where a small business can genuinely outrank a bigger one.

  • dog groomer near me
  • dog grooming [your town]
  • cockapoo grooming [your town]
  • puppy first groom
  • mobile dog grooming near me

I set this up during the build rather than selling it back to you afterwards as an SEO package. What I will not do is promise you the top spot, because nobody can honestly promise that.

What it costs

A website for a grooming salon starts at £1,000 for up to five pages, live in about two weeks. You get one number in writing before anything starts, and it does not move unless you ask for something that was not in the brief. Hosting and your domain run separately at roughly £100 to £150 a year, and the care plan is optional.

The full breakdown is on the pricing page. You talk to me the whole way through, because there is nobody else to talk to. I have been doing this for 12 years and I am still reachable after launch, with 30 days of free tweaks while you settle in.
